Your Body Defensive Ability According to Its Position / Boaz Aviram

If you are positioned one foot forward and the other back, torso at forty-five degrees as you get into the hotzone your body is at forty-five degree angle to upcoming frontal impact such as kicks. You need to complete a small evasive torso move to completely deflect it. Better use your palms and forearms first for deflection.

That's half less of a motion should your body was in let's say frontal neutral positioning. Want to advance crossing your legs as you advance into the hotzone? Potentially if your opponent is attacking at the same time, not only he might get your heart or solar plexus in a more of a sticking position, but your instinctive blocks/deflection will need more time to reach as well which means you will probably get hit!
